Today on X there were many topics that were trending. In the morning the jury reached a verdict in the Daniel Penny case. Later in the morning, police arrested a suspect in the assassination of Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO. Another big story is that Pete Hegseth looks like he will be confirmed. The Daniel Penny Case
The Jury returned a verdict of innocent today in the Daniel Penny case. X was excited to see him go free. He is a hero and should be celebrated for his bravery. I know that not everyone will feel this way. Jordan Neely was a career criminal, and his family is trying to profit off of his death now. Jordan’s family left him out on the street to terrorize the city. Daniel shouldn’t have been put in that situation, but thankfully there was a good Samaritan there. Who knows what would have happened had Jordan not been restrained.

The Brian Thompson Assassination
The next big story of the day was the Brian Thompson Assassination. They found the suspected killer in a McDonald’s in Altoon, PA. This city is a couple hours away from New York. It isn’t clear what he was doing there. This ends the nationwide manhunt that was ongoing for the killer in this case. What is most upsetting to me is the reaction from people regarding this case. Some people celebrated this killing because they didn’t like the company Brian worked for.

Pete Hegseth’s confirmation
It looks like Pete Hegseth will be confirmed as secretary of defense. Hegseth had multiple meetings on capitol hill this week with various Senators. One hold out was Joni Ernst, and it looks like she is now going to support his nomination.
