About
About mavjones.com
An independent Manchester United site, written from the United States, for supporters who want the detail without the rumour-mill noise.
Who writes this
My name is Mav Jones. I have supported Manchester United since the Treble season, which means I have watched enough of both ends of this club to be hard to impress and hard to panic. I am based in Texas, so most of what I write gets written at kick-off times that are inconvenient for everyone I know.
I am not a credentialed journalist and this site does not pretend otherwise. What it is: one supporter reading widely, checking claims properly, and writing up what actually holds. Where I have an opinion I say so plainly and label it as an opinion. Where the reporting is thin I say that too.
What gets covered
- Match reaction. A report after every United game, published the same day, focused on performance rather than the scoreline.
- Transfer analysis. Confirmed deals and credible links, with an explanation of what a player actually brings rather than a repeat of the fee.
- Injury and squad news. Who is out, for how long, and what it means for selection.
- Fixtures. The full 2026/27 schedule with kick-off times converted to US Eastern, updated with results through the season.
How stories are put together
These are the rules this site actually runs on, not aspirations:
- Multiple sources before publication. Nothing factual goes up on the word of a single outlet. Claims are checked across several independent reports first.
- Disagreements get reported, not hidden. When credible outlets contradict each other, the article says which ones and lets you weigh it, rather than silently picking the version that makes the better headline.
- Rumour is labelled as rumour. Transfer coverage names the outlet a claim comes from and states plainly whether it is confirmed.
- Corrections are made openly. Mistakes get fixed, and where the change is material the article says what changed. Report one through the contact page.
- Every article is written from scratch. Nothing here is syndicated, scraped or reprinted from another site.
How the site pays for itself
mavjones.com carries advertising and some affiliate links, meaning a commission may be earned on a qualifying purchase at no extra cost to you.
