United Seal Champions League Return in Old Trafford Thriller vs Liverpool

3-2 win over Liverpool seals top-four finish

On Sunday, May 3, United beat Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford in a result that effectively sealed a return to the Champions League. The launch reportedly triggered a £10m bonus payment from Adidas as part of a kit deal worth up to £90m a year.

With Champions League qualification all but secured, reports in this window pointed to Carrick eyeing reinforcements across the pitch, with midfield the priority given Casemiro’s contract expiry looming. Early names being floated included Aurélien Tchouaméni, Manu Koné, Bruno Guimarães, and Carlos Baleba.
